The Cortisol Response: A Guide to Panic Button Physiology
When you're feeling stressed, your body's like, totally freaked out. Cortisol's like, 'Hey, what's up, human?' And, like, your adrenal glands are all, 'Oh no, time to panic!'
Cortisol's a hormone that's like, 'I'm in charge here, human.'
Here's how it works: when you feel stressed, your brain's all, 'Hey, cortisol, you're up! Get to work!'
Cortisol goes, 'Okay, human, I got this!' and it's like, 'Oh, great, let's make some stress hormones and get this party started!'
And, like, your body's all, 'Whoa, this is crazy, what's going on?' And, like, it's all, 'Uh, just relax, human, I got this!'
But, like, sometimes it's not that easy to just, like, relax, right?
So, like, here are some tips to help you, uh, chill:
- Breathe, human, breathe!
- Don't be a total worrier!
- Exercise, human, exercise!
- Get some Z's, human, Z's!
- Laugh, human, laugh!
